...back in black...part 2!

http://tinyurl.com/2colx2w

Sadly, it is only a 3.0L car but still, they've got the wheel spacers, fenders and duckbill in order.

I'm reigniting this discussion with a polarizing figure in the car world. Muscle Car. Turbo. Mullet Reputation. It is a classic and these will continue to increase in value as the years go on. This one is pretty spotless.

Dodge Viper

I don't know anything about this car - but it looks aggressive. What do we know gentlemen? Mid life crisis car - yes......but cool?

2012 Ford Focus ST

Ok Brett - this is the first Ford I would step on the lot to see.
"Sporty, aggressive body, oversized grille, four doors plus a hatch, and a 2.0-liter Ford EcoBoost engine good for 247 horsepower"

Mt Washington Climb

Pastrana Climbs Mt Washington

I am not sure how anyone could watch this - and not want a WRX Sti - inspite of someone beating this car with an ugly stick.

Lotus 7

This meets all the qualifications and while not as pretty as say a modern Porsche, it does have a certain "I don't know what". Light. Fast. Economical. Efficient. Fun.

...so fresh and so clean...

http://tinyurl.com/24rdv6r

I know I'm bordering on being a 'tease' at this point but I keep coming back to a 993 C4S!. That hot blue one is back up on EBay too.

This one is also cherry and it looks better than show room condition. I'm not sure I've ever seen a cleaner looking car with 43K miles.

It has 4 doors so it might be too practical but I wouldn't be an Audiphile without making the suggestion.

Sure it might be a bit old, and its heavy modifications don't exactly scream "I'll start every day, I promise". But, I just saw one of these at Fuel last saturday and it was f'n sweet.

Beige bites back

Toyota FT-86. I have no idea what the final specs on this car will be but supposedly it will spec out at 26K in premium trim. Depending on the engine available, this could be a real nice ride, especially with some engine work.

have you driven one lately?

I rented one of these recently.. its not a total piece of shift, like you might think. I'm not sure this is really the car for you. But I really do like what Ford is up to these days design and quality wise. The hybrid version of the fusion has some awesome tech going on.

Mmmm, not sure they have quite the car yet that would get ME on the dealership lot, but the new ford EDGE is really nice, and I think it gets better MPG then my VW Rabbit!!! WFT.. might be worth checking out.

and its got a sick dash

OUTATIME! bitches!

yeah, I went there.. I saw one TODAY!!!! MINT CONDISH!!! AND!!!! license plate... OUTATYM

Let me drop some craziness on you just cause....

This would be awesome. period. Also, someone at work has one... hottness everyday.

Practical can f@ck itself.

911 substitute

http://tinyurl.com/2cawflq

I'd still rather have the 993 I posted earlier than this so my vote still lies with a 993 Carerra 4S with good mileage and aftermarket goodies.

That said, if you wanted something newer, this is a cost-effective 295hp way to get there and keep the mistique. I actually like the Cayman. The reason I like it is that the 91,1 from the 996 and 997 derivations onward, has become too big and too heavy. In turbo form it is a weaker but still driveable supercar and they had to create the GT2 and GT3 to compete with real supercars. They are maxing the potential of the 3.6L and 3.8L mills. The normally aspirated 911 is, therefore, a stripped and fat supercar.

The CAYMAN S has become what the pre-996 model 911s were. Smaller, lighter, tossable driver's cars. They are powerful and driveable coupes. They have separated themselves from the Boxter and, in coupe form, become a racer. Even porsche recognizes the lineage by giving the Cayman Sport S the old RS/CS livery with the rocker panel stripe and script text. I like the decision to introduce the car into the Porsche lineup. It is a car to be respected.

The TTS will do 0-60 in 4.9. Not bad from a 2L AWD car...but the TT started out as a "ladies car", in Dutch's parlance...so even though I think the newest body style looks "meaner" it might not be possible to lose the sneaking suspicion you valeting for a "Housewife of Hamilton County".

1995 BMW 850CSi Sport Package

Not sure how financing would work on a car this old. Something else to consider. Plus the mileage is so high. A more reasonable amount of miles and this car was still $60K!!!! Damn.

Price $29,999

Mileage 102,000

Subaru WRX STi

Now the thing is, this thing is fugly. Really look at it. Performance? Sure. Tuner Street Cred - sure. But really. It is super duper ugly. Plus you would have to buy a new one (which does come in under $40K. Anybody that bought one definitely abused the hell out of the car.

Nissian GT-R

I didn't think there would be one for less than $40,000 - but this one squeaked just in.
Price $40,000
Mileage 32,516

Look like some after market crap - but that is not a show stopper - although does it imply this thing has been "hooned" out?

69 Charger

Apparently Brett is too cool to do this on his own. He wanted to know why we nixed the 69 Charger. BECAUSE IT ISN'T a daily driver! This is not my "sunday go to meetin" car. This is my drive to work, why yes I am awesome, car. Still, posted a pic cause they are pretty.

Today's lesson: Power to Weight ratio

http://superfastminis.com/index.htm

They don't have full cars for sale on the website at the moment but they have in the past. For less than 30K you can create a 200hp car that weights in at about 2100 lbs with driver. That yields a PTW ratio of about 10.5. Lowest number wins.

hot 911

Remember now - not until 2011 oct - dec.

Check out the wikipedia page on 911. Pretty interesting. Prior to 1998 they were all air cooled. I like that. One less system to break down.

It looks like you like the 993 (1993-1998). It came as a 2 (rear wheel) and a 4 (all wheel) in regular, targa and cabriolet. I think I want rear wheel drive with regular roof. Rear wheel is always faster in a straight line. :)

1998-2005 where they effed up the headlights - not interested.

I also don't like the models with the overly flared wheel wells.

What do you think? Also - why is it some 911 are still $$$$ and then deals like this pop up?
