have you driven one lately?

I rented one of these recently.. its not a total piece of shift, like you might think. I'm not sure this is really the car for you. But I really do like what Ford is up to these days design and quality wise. The hybrid version of the fusion has some awesome tech going on.

Mmmm, not sure they have quite the car yet that would get ME on the dealership lot, but the new ford EDGE is really nice, and I think it gets better MPG then my VW Rabbit!!! WFT.. might be worth checking out.

and its got a sick dash

OUTATIME! bitches!

911 substitute

I'd still rather have the 993 I posted earlier than this so my vote still lies with a 993 Carerra 4S with good mileage and aftermarket goodies.

That said, if you wanted something newer, this is a cost-effective 295hp way to get there and keep the mistique. I actually like the Cayman. The reason I like it is that the 91,1 from the 996 and 997 derivations onward, has become too big and too heavy. In turbo form it is a weaker but still driveable supercar and they had to create the GT2 and GT3 to compete with real supercars. They are maxing the potential of the 3.6L and 3.8L mills. The normally aspirated 911 is, therefore, a stripped and fat supercar.

The CAYMAN S has become what the pre-996 model 911s were. Smaller, lighter, tossable driver's cars. They are powerful and driveable coupes. They have separated themselves from the Boxter and, in coupe form, become a racer. Even porsche recognizes the lineage by giving the Cayman Sport S the old RS/CS livery with the rocker panel stripe and script text. I like the decision to introduce the car into the Porsche lineup. It is a car to be respected.

The TTS will do 0-60 in 4.9. Not bad from a 2L AWD car...but the TT started out as a "ladies car", in Dutch's parlance...so even though I think the newest body style looks "meaner" it might not be possible to lose the sneaking suspicion you valeting for a "Housewife of Hamilton County".

1995 BMW 850CSi Sport Package

Not sure how financing would work on a car this old. Something else to consider. Plus the mileage is so high. A more reasonable amount of miles and this car was still $60K!!!! Damn.

Price $29,999

Mileage 102,000

Subaru WRX STi

Now the thing is, this thing is fugly. Really look at it. Performance? Sure. Tuner Street Cred - sure. But really. It is super duper ugly. Plus you would have to buy a new one (which does come in under $40K. Anybody that bought one definitely abused the hell out of the car.
